The Society of Pediatric Psychology Board of Directors recognizes that our identities, lived experiences, and social positions of power, privilege, and historical oppression and marginalization shape and inform the decisions that we make on behalf of our membership. While not inclusive of every identity and recognizing that not all lived experiences are homogenous or representative, we collectively represent diverse backgrounds in terms of race (e.g., White, Black, Latinx), career stage (e.g., student to senior), gender identity (e.g., women, men, 2-spirit), ability (e.g., cognitively, physically), sexual orientation, spoken language, religion (e.g., Jewish, Christian, Agnostic, Atheist), degree of specialty (e.g., clinical, counseling), and work/education settings. We strive for inclusivity of all perspectives, honoring that similarities and differences strengthen our collective viewpoint.
