Call for 2016 C. Eugene Walker and Student Travel Awards applications

C. Eugene Walker Education Award in Pediatric Psychology
Students and trainees are encouraged to apply for the C. Eugene Walker Education Award. The award is available to any graduate student, intern, or postdoctoral fellow who is an Society of Pediatric Psychology (SPP) member and enrolled in a training program involving substantial instruction in pediatric psychology, and may be used to present a poster or paper or other leadership activity at any educational function with preference given to SPP or APA meetings. One or more awards may be made up to $1,000 each.

To apply, please submit the following as one complete PDF to Eleanor Mackey, PhD, by Jan. 31:

  • A cover letter including your name and email address; your current training institution; your primary mentor on this submitted project; a statement confirming your Div. 54 membership status ; information detailing the name, dates and location of the conference; and a paragraph describing the relevance of your planned training or leadership activity to your development as a pediatric psychologist.
  • Your current curriculum vitae.
  • Copy of your original presentation proposal submitted to Div. 54 or an outline of your leadership activities.

SPP Student Travel Awards

The SPP Student Travel Awards are available for students who are SPP members and who are first authors of a poster or paper to be presented during Div. 54 programming at the APA convention or at any Div. 54-sponsored regional or national meeting. Only current graduate students are eligible for these awards. Up to 15 awards of $750 will be given to help offset costs of travel.  Eligibility includes predoctoral interns.

To apply, please submit the following as one complete PDF to Eleanor Mackey, PhD, by Jan. 31:

  • A one- page cover letter including your name and email address; your current training institution; your primary mentor on this submitted project; information detailing the name, dates and location of the conference; a statement confirming your Div. 54 membership status; and information on any other sources of travel funding for your convention participation.
  • Copy of your original proposal submitted to Div. 54
  • Your current curriculum vitae.
