Pediatric Traumatic Injury Special Interest Group

Mission and Goals

The mission of the Pediatric Traumatic Injury SIG is to bring together pediatric psychologists and trainees who specialize in, or express interest in, the prevention and treatment of traumatic injury in youth. Through this community, members can share relevant resources, clinical materials, and educational opportunities, as well as offer peer consultation in clinical work. Additionally, this SIG will foster collaboration among colleagues in developing and disseminating research relevant to pediatric traumatic injury. Importantly, this SIG will support mentorship, networking, and career development opportunities for trainees and psychologists across career levels. This SIG will collaborate with professional organizations involved in the care of injured children (e.g., Pediatric Trauma Society, American Burn Association) and other SPP SIGs involved in the advancement of care for youth and their families following pediatric injury.
