Diabetes Special Interest Group
Mission and goals
The Diabetes Special Interest Group promotes the use of evidenced-based approaches to assess and treat the biopsychosocial factors associated with morbidity in diabetes.
Our specific goals are to:
- Increase collaborative opportunities between pediatric psychologists who conduct research and provide clinical care to pediatric patients with diabetes and their families.
- Promote an integrated team approach to the medical management of pediatric patients with diabetes and their families.
- Provide assessment and treatment resources to researchers and clinicians who work with pediatric patients with diabetes and their families.
- Train and mentor new diabetes-focused researchers and clinicians using scientific approaches to the medical and psychological management of diabetes.
