Nephrology Special Interest Group
Mission and Goals
The mission of the Pediatric Nephrology Psychology SIG is to foster national collaboration, mentorship, and community among pediatric psychologists who specialize in nephrology. Our aim is to support excellence in psychological care through the integration of evidence-based assessment, intervention, research, and program development for children and adolescents with chronic kidney disease, dialysis needs, and post-transplant care.
We strive to create a professional home for psychologists working in this specialty area, offering a space for shared learning, resource exchange, advocacy, and the promotion of high-quality care across diverse healthcare systems. Aligned with the Society of Pediatric Psychology (SPP)’s mission, our SIG serves as a hub for networking, interdisciplinary collaboration, and advancing the role of psychology in pediatric nephrology through a combination of clinical, academic, and research-focused efforts.
