The SPP Student Advisory Board (SAB) is currently accepting applications for six SAB member positions. SAB members hold two-year terms, beginning January 1, 2015, with transition to the position beginning August 2014.

Applicants must be Division 54 student members and enrolled in an APA-accredited graduate program in professional psychology with specific interests in pediatric psychology. Applicants must not be eligible for graduation from their program until after their term is complete in December 2016. To apply, email the following to SPP Student Representative  Jennifer Lee:

  • Your CV
  • Contact information including email, phone, and address
  • Letter of recommendation from your primary mentor
  • A short statement indicating your interest in serving as an SAB member and your preference as to how you would serve on the Student Advisory Board (i.e., Student Representative, Membership Committee, Student Spotlight/Website Committee, Programming Committee), including highlights of how you would contribute.

Some of the duties of the Membership Committee include recruiting new student members for SPP, managing the Facebook page, and other activities pertaining to communication with student members. The duties of the Student Spotlight/Website Committee include reviewing applications for the Student Spotlight, writing Student Spotlight information for the newsletter, updating the APA website materials, and other activities pertaining to highlighting student work. Activities for the Programming Committee are primarily related to planning and executing conference programming at the APA Conference and the Society of Pediatric Psychology Annual Conference, as well as other programs for students at gatherings for pediatric psychology. The Student Representative coordinates SAB-related activities, writes for the Progress Notes newsletter, and acts as a liaison between students and the Executive Board of Division 54 of APA.

The deadline to apply is Tuesday, April 15. Thanks and we look forward to reviewing your applications!
