Integrated Primary Care SIG

There are exciting things happening in the IPC space! First, a great thanks to Drs. Cheyenne Hughes-Reid and Rachel Tunick for their leadership of the IPC-SIG over the last several years. We are so grateful for the service they’ve provided and we hope to carry forward their strong efforts.
We are excited to announce our newly elected leadership team:

It was wonderful to see familiar and new faces at the annual meeting. For those who were not in attendance, we were so fortunate to have Carolyn Schroeder, Ph.D., join our SIG meeting. She shared pearls of wisdom from her pioneering IPC work, and we were honored to have her present.
Congratulations to our poster winners this year. Priya Ramanujam from OHSU won the award for trainees and Alexandra Hoff from Nemours won for faculty. There were 15 IPC-specific posters and two symposia with IPC-focused content at SPPAC this year. We hope to see those numbers grow next year.
We are very pleased that Clinical Practice in Pediatric Psychology has announced an upcoming Special Issue on Integrated Primary Care. Meghan Lines, Ph.D., will be guest editor and LoIs will be due July 15. This is a great opportunity to showcase our scholarly work and we would love to see a big IPC-SIG presence in the Special Issue.
Speaking of scholarship, over the last several months there has been an effort to establish a Pediatric Integrated Primary Care Research Consortium. This is a group of research-oriented clinicians and scientists, most of whom are IPC-SIG members. The goals of the Collaborative are to stimulate cross-site collaboration, provide a venue for sharing and receiving feedback on work from colleagues, and improve the overall quality of IPC research. Thus far, the group has agreed to conduct quarterly conference calls. If you are interested in being added to the email list for this group, please let us know by emailing Andrew Riley, Ph.D., at rileyand@ohsu.edu.
Finally, as part of our recent elections, we asked member to suggest topic areas for the SIG with the following results which we plan to create conversation about in the upcoming months: innovations in research, tiers of intervention in primary care, the IPC psychologist role in psychopharmacology, issues related to IPC payment/insurance, ethical decision making, and mentorship for students and early career professionals.

Plan to Attend Nemours’ DREAM IPC Conference September 19-20
The mission of the second biennial DREAM (Developing and Researching Advanced Models of Integrated Primary Care) IPC (Integrated Primary Care) Conference is to provide a platform on which innovative clinical practices and research in the field of pediatric integrated primary care can be shared with other medical and behavioral health providers, researchers and trainees interested in integrated primary care.
Join us for stimulating plenary addresses, expert panels and blitz presentations. Don’t miss out on unique networking opportunities as well as our career and training fair. NEW for 2019, we will be offering skills-building workshops, peer-reviewed symposia, and research roundtables.
CE and CME credits will be offered. Student registration rates will be available.
