Call for Nominations

SPP Board of Directors

SPP is now accepting nominations for two positions on the 2021 Board of Directors. Elections are conducted by APA and will be held in the spring of 2020.  Winners will be announced in June 2020. The term of office is three years (2021 - 2023) and includes participation in monthly conference calls and attendance at two Board of Directors' meetings per year. All nominees must be a member of Division 54 and an APA Member, Fellow or Voting Associate.

All SPP members are encouraged to submit nominations including self-nominations.  Ten nominations from SPP members must be received for each candidate. To nominate a candidate, send an email to with the word "Nomination" in the subject line.

President-Elect 

The President-Elect shall be a member, fellow or voting associate member of the Society elected for a term of three years during which the person will serve as president-elect, president and past president. As president, the individual will lead the Society by assuming ultimate responsibility for all ongoing programs, by leading the development of new directions, by maintaining relationships with other organizations, by speaking for the Society in personal and public communication, and by appointing all committees, liaisons and other offices of responsibility. The individual shall preside at all meetings, shall be the chairperson of the Board of Directors and shall perform all other usual duties of a presiding officer. Several duties begin during the president-elect year and extend through the past-presidential year. Other duties include chairing the Committee on Nominations and Elections, the Division Honors Selection Committee, and the Finance Committee.

Member-at-Large – Membership (2021 - 2023)

The Member-at-Large – Membership shall be a member, fellow or voting associate member of the Society elected for a term of three years. During the person’s term in office, the individual will be a member of the Board of Directors with the right to vote.  The Member-at-Large - Membership chairs the Society’s Membership Committee, serves on the International Committee and oversees the Society’s Special Interest Groups.


2020 SPP Awards of Distinction for Faculty and Staff

The Society of Pediatric Psychology invites applications for six faculty and staff awards. These awards recognize outstanding achievement across a range of professional activities. This is an important opportunity to recognize a deserving colleague or mentor. Recipients will be presented with their awards at the 2020 SPP Annual Conference, March 19 - 21, in Dallas.

Nomination information is available on the Division 54 website. Awards offered in 2020 to faculty or staff include:

  • Wright Ross Salk Award for Distinguished Service in Pediatric Psychology
  • Michael C. Roberts  Award for Outstanding Mentorship  
  • Dennis Drotar Distinguished Research Award in Pediatric Psychology 
  • Donald K. Routh Early Career Award  
  • Carolyn S. Schroeder Award for Outstanding Clinical Practice in Pediatric Psychology 
  • SPP Award for Distinguished Contributions to Diversity in Pediatric Psychology
